Feminism comes through in waves and so far there have been four. The first wave was from the late 1800's- early 1900's. The second wave was in the 60's- 80's. The third wave was in the late 90's and transitioned into the fourth wave in the 2010's.

First Wave

- Suffrage

- Giving women equal opportunities

- Political rights

- Owning property

- voting

Second Wave

- Equality

- Fighting sexism and discrimination

- Calling out rape

- Reproductive rights

- "The personal is political"

- Individual rights focused

Third Wave

- Very inclusive

- Made a point to include women of all races, religions, and sexualities in their activism

- Called out issues with past feminist movements and looked to improve

Fourth Wave

- Gender equality

- Breaking gender norms

- Sexual harassment & rape culture

- Body shaming

- "Me-Too"
